New Opportunites!

I am super excited to add some new class opportunities to the calendar!

The Technique Class is scheduled for this Saturday at 9am. However, you need to let me know TODAY that you’re coming so that I can have your supplies ready for you. I am looking forward to sharing a new watercolor background and a color blocking technique with you!

Friday, March 8, 7pm – Scrap and Stamp
Come scrap/stamp with me! I will be working on projects and welcome your company. Bring your supplies and we can visit while we work. No registration required.

Saturday, March 9, 9am – Kids Kreate
This class is designed for kids ages 8-12 (roughly). We will create several projects that are both practical and fun! An adult (mom, grandma...) needs to stay to help along the way - sometimes things like bows get a little tricky for small fingers. Class fee is $20 and includes all supplies. Registration is required by Tuesday, February 26.

Saturday, March 16, 9am – Home Décor – NEW!
This new class will take your papercrafting beyond the page and into your home. We’ll be stamping on canvas to create an elegant spring masterpiece! Class fee is $25 and includes all supplies. Registration is required by Tuesday, March 5.

Friday, March 22, 7pm – Intro to Digital Design – NEW!
Like the idea of scrapbooking, but short on time? Maybe you feel intimidated, and wonder if you have enough creativity to scrapbook? Digital Design may be just what you need! Your pictures are likely digital, so you’re already halfway there. My Digital Studio can help you create awesome scrapbooks (as well as a host of other projects) quickly and easily, and this class will help you as you get started. From downloading your free 30-day trial of MDS and collecting additional images to creating new designs, you have an assistant (me!) just a phone call, email, or text away. Class fee is $15-worth of digital downloads, which can be done during our class time – I’ll show you how! If you have a laptop, feel free to bring it along and we’ll get you all set up. Registration is required by Tuesday, March 19.

Saturday, March 23, 9am – Spring Scrapbook Layouts – NEW!
Whether you are new to scrapbooking or a seasoned pro, this class is sure to get your mojo going! We’ll put together 4 pages (2 single pages and 1 2-page layout). Please bring your favorite adhesive; all other supplies are included. Class fee is $25. Registration is required by Tuesday, March 12.

Please note that registration deadlines are a little sooner than they have been. This is to allow me additional time to prepare, as well as to be able to order materials if needed and receive them in time for the class. Also, registration is EASY! You can call, email, text, rsvp on my website, fb me… You choose whichever method you prefer – I am reachable! :)

I can’t wait to see you!

Happy Birthday, Little Man!

One of my boys celebrated his birthday last month, and I thought I would share his birthday card with you today. I was looking for something masculine, clean and simple, and something he would say was "cool." I'm not sure whether or not I accomplished that goal, as he doesn't typically "ooh and aah" over cards. If I asked, I'm sure he would agree that it was cool, but then that might just be his sweet self trying to make Mom feel good...lol. However, my daughter thought it was "pretty" - hmm, maybe I missed the masculine part entirely! What do you think?

Paper: Not Quite Navy, River Rock, Early Espresso, retired DSP
Stamps: Vintage Verses (2013 SAB set)
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Awesome Fabric Special!

Wow! Stampin' Up! is offering an awesome deal on four retired designer fabrics! Each box includes three different prints (about a fat quarter of each), and right now these four sets are 99 cents each! WOW!

If you've never used fabric with your paper crafting, there are so many things to try! Whether you tear a strip and use it like a ribbon or use the Big Shot to die-cut it into shapes... You can adhere it fabric-to-fabric or fabric-to-cardstock for more stability. Oh the possibilities! And at this price, you can easily afford to give it a try.

The sets are listed in the Clearance Rack - just click through the pages, as they are not all together in there. You can order online right there on my website, but do hurry - these prices are only good while supplies last. Once the word gets out and these fabrics sell out...well, you'll want to take a peek right now! :)

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. That's what I'm here for! Remember too, if your order totals $50 (before tax/shipping), I'll mark another square on the back of your card. When your card is full, you'll receive a stamp set of your choice (up to $25 value!) FREE from me. And... if your online order totals $150 or more (before tax/shipping), you'll qualify for hostess benefits, too!

Make it a great day!

Tri-Fold Blossoms

I found some time to play the other day, and I loved what came out of that time! Don't you just love a good play time? lol

The Mixed Bunch set and it's coordinating Blossom Punch have been a go-to pair for me for a while now. I saw the idea for a diagonal tri-fold card and thought I would play with that a bit. Here's what happened:

The card is 5 1/2 by 4 - a tad smaller than a "standard" card, but it will still fit in a regular envelope. And with three panels, there is lots of room to decorate or write your message.

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Bring on the Cake
Inks: Soft Suede, Marina Mist
Paper/Card Stock: Not Quite Navy; DSP Pattern Pack, Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight
Punches: Blossom Punch, Scalloped Oval
Accessories: Simply Scored, Basic Rhinestones, Sponges, Dimensionals

Embossing Plaid

I love plaids. I'm not sure what it is about them... Maybe it is that little bit of Scottish in my background? Or maybe it is the orderly pattern... lol  Whatever the reason, plaids feel warm and comfy to me. So I loved the idea of using the Stripes Embossing Folder to create plaids! You could use subtle colors for baby cards or scrapbook pages, or you could use bright, cheery colors. Low-contrast colors for a "softer" background, or high-contrast colors for a "louder" background. There are so many possibilities! I played with Cherry Cobbler and Summer Starfruit on this one. And one little tip I learned... Use your brayer to ink the folder, but be sure to ink the textured side. The smooth side will not give you a clean embossed line.

Once again, it's hard to capture the sparkle, but if you look closely perhaps you can see the glitter on the frosting.  Now if only you could sink your teeth into it...

Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Summer Starfruit, White Craft
Punches: Cupcake Builder, Scalloped Oval, 1 1/4" square (for flag ends)
Accessories: Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, Brayer, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Dimensionals
